Nationals 2024.
This year we had a slight change to the Nationals
programme to allow us to fly at a separate field.
Unfortunately, we only had a very short time to prepare the
paddock, so particular thanks go to Andrew Rayner and
the mowing contractor for their short notice help. The field
was quite rough and it this led to damage to a few models.
We need to try and sort out better fields in future. We had a
couple of issues with the Notaumatics that were self-
induced (don’t necessarily rely on the developers
advice!!) and one small switch problem. Once sorted, the
system ran well.
Also please note – if you are interested in competing in
scale at any level and are not receiving emails from our
Scale SIG or you are not a member of our SIG Facebook
page, please contact me with your email details. It is
impossible to communicate with you without some
contact method and this makes the CD’ing of the
competition more difficult than it should be.
Clubman Scale:
A small entry but enough to allow for a competition. This
became a battle between two MPMAC clubmates and
Charles Erlam from the North Shore Club In the end
Charles prevailed with his Brazilian version of a Piper Cub
with Tony Christiansen second and Fraser Brodie third. A
good battle.
