I checked the pack voltage and got 0.6V off load. After 3 days, I disconnected the lamp and left it for 24 hours and measured the cells; the reading for the whole pack was 0.6V. I have put it back on the discharge lamp indefinitely, or until I need the lamp again for another packOne thing worth noting is that the pack may well puff up (if not already) during this discharge, this seems to be minor and if the pack is left dead, it subsides again.DisposalHaving made your pack safe, what do you do with it? It seems most towns have a battery disposal facility. All should offer this function, I disagree with using public waste or landfill, there are metal resources in batteries that should be recycled. I live in Palmerston North and recently took a number of model Lipos, a lead acid battery and even the 57V Lipo from a Segway to the Recycling Centre and they were accepted without question, so check your local situation. I personally think that for every ones%u2019 safety, Lipos in particular, should be made as safe as possible before we dispose of them, there have been a number of rubbish truck fires attributed to batteries and the effort to render them safe, especially lithium based ones, is minimal.8
