We have a current membership of 1696 members with the sunny warm summer months coming on and plenty of club activity and flying remember safety is paramount. The MFNZ events calendar is filling up and remember to use this tool online to see flying events coming up in the future. Congratulations to the New Zealand F3A Aerobatics Team at the World championships in Muncie held in August with a fantastic team result and Sean Galloway an individual bronze medal. A huge effort to put together a trip to compete like this and plenty of practice and preparation behind the scenes. Sadly, Liz King Flying NZ%u2019s FAI rep for many years is planning on stepping down after 14 years representation on behalf of MFNZ %u2013 a super huge thanks for all your hard work, Liz! Wings qualifications MFNZ website page is to be updated to an easier format for finding correct links with the new instructor%u2019s handbook now online. This is a living document and there are still a few sections pending such as Glider and Heli. Wings renewal system has 75 pilots passed through to date and updated their certifications. MFNZ has a subcommittee to attend to any alterations and updates to the programme as required. I%u2019d like to remind folks that if your MFNZ membership number is in the 0 - 5000 range, you'll need to complete the Wings Renewal before the end of this year. MFNZ has registered for Warbirds over Wanaka with a full MFNZ promotional display scheduled for April next year Passkit system is working well with a better-thanexpected uptake on online digital membership cards with 1,031 pilots taking up the system. So far this really helps anyone running events etc so they can see Up-To-Date pilot information instantly NDC numbers are on the increase compared to previous years and some great local club results with some changes to come into play on the Vintage rules and classes being modified and will be effective 14th December 2025 sadly the Blenheim area is struggling to compete with the recent floods. 78th Nats is well into planning stages, with fields and locations on the agenda with SIG meetings and flying schedules to be sorted soon. The Big Models Rallies SIG is now up and running with three rallies planned and more being promoted around the country. Documents are being updated all the time and it pays to keep a check on our main documents page and the amendment status for each document. I have heard of a few fly away models lately just a reminder to pop your name and phone number in your model, set up failsafe and make sure you set up a kill switch for your electric models as per Pete%u2019s article further on in the Magazine.
