     Vintage at the Nationals
We can look forward to 4 days
of both Vintage Free Flight and
RC events again at this Nats.
Back by popular demand is the
     flexible schedule for Vintage
and Classical RC. Any of the
events can be flown on any of
     the 4 competition days. This
     flexible approach proved
     popular with attendees last
     Nats as it allowed contestants
to fly other disciplines and still
     fit in their Vintage flights.
     Participation numbers were up
     on the previous year.

     Vintage FF has some flexible
     and some hard scheduling,
just check the Nats entry form Martin and Ceinen Evans at the last Nats. They appreciated being able to fit in vintage flying around other
commitments and were able to fly in all their classes on the same day thanks to the flexible schedule.

Rule Change for the Electric Duration Classes Both Classical and Vintage Electric Duration classes

The Vintage rules have been changed for the power
systems used in both the Classical and Vintage Electric NDC Calendar 2025
Duration classes. This became necessary because the C The NDC Calendar for next year has been finalised and is

After much deliberation by the SIG and vote from
members it has been passed that power systems for
electric duration will be “OPEN”. This means you can
install any electric system you like, it’s unlimited. At first
this seemed, at the least unwise, but the reality is that
pilots will and do fly models based on their abilities to
control them up the climb. The main considerations are
controllability and visibility. Suffice to say it is important to
build an appropriately strong model and approach flying it
with care if a truly high powered setup is used. An upside is
that larger heavier vintage models previously considered
uncompetitive may now be built with lots of power so they
can compete. There are a few of these in peoples sheds
already. This rule change is effective from date of
    publication of this MFW.
