Season Starter - We ran an Aerobatics Primer at Aerobatics Primer / Intro day at Waharoa in September. Those guys all had
Waharoa in September, about a dozen interested a go at the Clubman schedule.

Pattern and Pylon, Airsail MAC in November
newbies attended. We’ve done a number of these intro style days around the
North Island at various clubs, and we focus on flying the Clubman schedule. If you
can do a loop, and you can do a roll, then you can fly Clubman with your sport
model. Improve your flying skills, and your setup, by getting into some Aerobatics. First Equal Pattern and Pylon winners.
Come and have a go, and we give you a chocolate fish !! As a result we ended up Anthony Wright and Ross Craighead.
with a new keen flier who has since been to a few events, and seems to be
hooked. On aerobatics that is, not chocolate.

At a recent committee meeting we discussed the topic of “How can we get more club based fliers to have a go at flying
aerobatics”. Even the quietest mention of the word “competition” has people heading for the carpark. What me ? Do a
loop ? nah … you must be joking mate, I couldn’t possibly do one of those. But hey Fred …. we’ve seen you doing loops
and rolls every Sunday ? In an effort to get more club aerobatics activity, we’ve had a bunch of small “Club Aerobatics”
trophies made up. We are going to send them out, free of charge, to clubs that are keen, so they can run a simple
aerobatics session. Maybe attempt the Clubman schedule, or just cherry pick a few parts from it. Award the trophy, and
then do it again in a few months time. Write your name on the trophy, and pass it on to the next deserving club pilot. If
your club is interested, get in touch and we will send you a trophy. All we ask in return is a photo of all the people that flew,
