Align 800 gearing.
So right now, the mechanics have been dry fitted, the tail
control rod adjusted for correct movement, and the head
and swash set correctly to give the desired -2 to +9 degree
blade deflection. The 12s 44V power supplied Hobbywing
ESC has been set for a slow spool up and has a cooling
fan fitted. The separately powered 2s 7.4V AXON gyro,
servos and navigation lights have been connected to the
light modules, and the switches and EMCOTEC main
battery isolation switch fitted to the port side panel. All
painting has been completed, the panel lines and rivets
have been applied, the scale decals made for me by Callie
at Callie Graphics in New Mexico are on, and the 2-pack
clear topcoats sprayed on. The 3D printed pitot tube, wire Cobra switch panel.
cutters, pilot steps have been added as have the
handmade skid arm spotlights.
I am waiting for the stub wings from Vario that, for some
unknown reason, are not supplied as part of the fuselage
package even though they are on all Cobras, plus the
scale nose FLIR and beacon lenses to be made by Tyler Vario angle gearbox.

HHF small in HHF real
My last scale build (see MFNZ March 2022 magazine)
was a 1963 Bell 204, Reg ZK-HHF, owned and operated
by the icon of NZ aviation, Alan Beck of Beck Helicopters
based in Eltham. My wife and I had the opportunity to show
this to Alan and his engineers Labour weekend 2022, and
she looked fantastic sitting in the body of the ‘real’ HHF.
