A deeper dive into what Free Flight is all about.

Free Flight is the earliest form of model aircraft flying dating back to the late 1800’s. The models have no control other than timers and launch sequence controllers. They are inherently stable which allows them to fly uncontrolled and the wind plays a major role where they fly. There is quite a variety of free flight models such as:

  • Gliders
  • Rubber powered
  • Power (Internal combustion engines, or electric)
  • Indoor

Most free flighters fly competitively and use rising currents of air (thermals) to extend the flight time.

Models being launched in Aggregate; a fun Free Flight event.
