The concept for selection is that we take the best performances from 2023 Nats to 2024 Nats inclusive. Therefore the events listed are declared as trials.

Additional events can be added to these as long as they are registered with Kevin Barnes (contact below), and they are published three months before the event. Expressions of interest are not needed with the exception of potential F2D members.

F2A Speed
The best two flights from any of the following official events
• Nats 2023
• Waikato Champs Feb 2023
• Easter Champs 2023
• Australian National champs
• Labour Weekend Champs 2023
• Nats 2024
• Any world cup event in 2023
• Any other nominated event approved by CL SIG

Minimum standard to be achieved 285kph

F2C Teamrace
The best two flights (heats only) from any of the following official events
• Nats 2023
• Waikato Champs Feb 2023
• Easter Champs 2023
• Australian National champs
• Labour Weekend Champs 2023
• Nats 2024
• Any world cup event in 2023
• Any other nominated event approved by CL SIG

Minimum standard to be achieved 3.35 for a heat (with two heats being proven)

Teams may be changed with consultation with the Control-line Sig. it is expected that at least one team member and the equipment would be constant.
If there is any doubt, teams that have not changed through the trials will have precedence.

F2B Aerobatics
The best two event results – normalised from 1000 of the winner. In event of tie next best event(s) will be included.
• Nats 2023
• All Stunt series events in 2023
• Australian National champs
• Any world cup event in 2023
• Any other nominated event approved by CL SIG
• Nats 2024

Minimum standard to be achieved 950 points regularly achieved (3 plus times)

F2D Combat
Due to the lack of open F2D events this will be considered on an “expressions of interest basis”.
All expressions of interest are to be sent to (contact below) by end of April 2023.

The results of 2023 Nationals F2D will provide the guidance for selection. i.e. the place getters will be offered places based on this results. If needed a specific trial may be held or the Nats 2024 result taken as trial.
